1.Warmth. Did you know the average low in July in Wellington is 7 degrees and on Siargao Island the average low is 25 degrees?  It’s a scientific fact that heat helps not only our muscles but our mind and body relax.  So, as we all start to feel the stresses and the cold of the middle of the year, July is the ideal time to get away somewhere warm, relax and recharge.

 

2. Health.  Did you know that the recommended Vitamin D intake is 400 – 800 IU/day (10-20 micrograms) and that 27% of us are below the recommended blood levels of Vitamin D.  It’s very difficult to receive the required levels at home without taking supplements or eating buckets of oily fish and liver (ewwww)!  Or you take a break in the middle of winter it will give you a boost and top off of that vitamin D your body has been longing for and you’ll feel energised and happy within no time!

 

3.Booking fun things adds joy. It also gives you something to look forward to. When you book ahead, you can tell your body that it’s not long now, and it will give you that warm energy well before you even take off for your retreat. It also breaks up winter and sets you on the winning streak towards warmer weather on your return.

 

4.Seize the day and making YOUR life extra ordinary  Sure we can hop on a jet plane and go to the Pacific islands. That is easy and it’s nice and we often say things like… “oh it’s so close” but is it really? You have to travel to the airport and go through customs and then sit on  a plane. It’s still a day of travelling. Deciding to go on a winter retreat provides the opportunity for you to choose somewhere really  exotic. Why not go the extra distance to some where you never even dreamed of? Somewhere really, really, beautiful? Somewhere you have  to look up on a map? Somewhere that extends your world view.

 

5.Unwind.  It’s incredibly important that we all unwind.  How easy is it to feel like a coil…wound up and it just gets tighter and tighter until it could pop.  It not only affects our mind, our moods, our relationships and also our health and organs.  Let’s release that uncomfortable sensation and unwind the coil…..retreating literally does this and you’ll be surprised once unwound at how tight you actually were!

 

 

6.Get a fresh perspective. See the world anew, by experiencing whole other ways of being in the world. Sometimes to truly let go of our expectations, we need to be somewhere out of the ordinary. To open our minds to and to get some distance on our lives so we can come back with a fresh new approach. Rested and ready for the second half of the year.

 

7. Play.  Yoga Circle retreats are a time for relaxation, unwinding and experimentation.  We encourage gently and provide opportunities for you to explore new activities and play!  Have fun, go with it, fall enjoy a swing under a palm tree, climb the mountain, learn to surf, paddle board, kayak.  When we play we to tap into our inner child, remember how fun it was to let go as a kid and just be who are.   Adding fun and play to your life is wonderful to create balance.

 

8. Be. We like our Yoga Circle retreats to be inclusive for everyone.  Some prefer to travel alone and some of us enjoy sharing or wonderful experiences with others. On our retreat everything is taken care of.  So, all you need to is decide to come, and the rest will follow.  For those who like time out from the group experience, we have included lots of way to make this happen.  If you come with a friend there are plenty of opportunities to time in with each other and connect.  It is also a great way to make new friends and share special adventures.  Our retreats give you the space to be as you wish.

 

9. Opportunity to try new things, like Yoga everyday.  As with all of our retreats, yoga is one of the many elements that make our retreats so special. Maybe, you have always dreamed of having a daily yoga practice. When you are on retreat this is easy. There are yoga classes everyday. Or maybe you already have a yoga practice and would like to keep it going while you are away… why not holiday with a yoga teacher? and make it happen.  Our retreats are not just about yoga….the daily  yoga classes are an addition to the incredible experiences you will have when you come away with me.   All classes and activities are optional. So maybe I’ll see you on the mat at sunrise and maybe you will be sipping a cocktail at sunset – it is all good. It is your retreat and you get to create balance in a way that enhance your life!
