from Yogi Circle yogis:
“…it has been such a long habit, I would miss it so much if I didn’t do it.”
”Go with a friend so you can keep each other on track.”
”I think….try to re-arrange my schedule! Get someone to teach me three or four poses to do at home and maybe five minutes of something to do with the breath. Schedule those 10 – 15 minutes in two or three times a week and see how it grows. Or even once a week. Once you start, you begin to groove a habit, but you have to start, even if it’s just one thing. Then you might be more motivated to try and get to class.”
”When you are ready to honour yourself and care about your health and wellbeing, the yoga will become a priority in your life.”
”You owe it to yourself to give it a go. I mean, what other sports or fitness allows you to totally relax and lie down at the end of a session? Once you start, keep going. You will feel amazing and before long, be hooked…”
”To start with, make it a priority at least one a week. No matter what. Pick a class you know you can attend and put it in your schedule. Yoga is addicting and although it might challenge you at first, one thing is for sure, even if you can’t do all the asanas, the relaxation at the end of class is easy on wonderful…ahhhhh.”
”I’d ask WHY they want to start yoga. When we know our why it clears the path to action. (If it is just because they feel like they ‘should’ or have been told by others it would be good for them, it is unlikely to happen as there is no personal commitment to it).”
I tell them that doing yoga from an app or online is fine
but as there is no-one to correct incorrect positions which can cause injuries.”
